Bed bugs can be found not just on the mattresses and bedframes.

In extreme cases handled by Omnipests, we have discovered signs of bed bugs on curtains, power points on the wall and in drawers and wardrobes.

Bed bugs are nocturnal blood-sucking insects. They approach a host, e.g. human when they intend to feed, but spend most of their time hiding or resting in their hiding sites. They do not transmit any disease pathogen. All life stages of bed bugs are obligatory blood feeders. Blood is the only source of the food. The newly hatched nymphs starts feeding immediately.

Feeding of the bed bug is initially stimulated by the higher amount of carbon dioxide in the presence of human. When the bed bugs are closer to the host, they attracted by the body heat of the host.

If you suspect to have a bed bug problem, please consult professional help for an inspection and try to discern the following signs. A prime indication scattered of cast skins or eggs or dead/live beg bug. Other tell-tale signs of bed bug infestation including blood speckles or blood stains and bites on the body. The bites can be red and itchy.

For efficient bed bug control, minimally, two rounds of inspections and treatments will be recommended.

In her lifetime, female bed bugs will lay up to 500 eggs at the rate of 1 to 5 eggs per day. Delays in bed bug control efforts will increase the risk of greater infestation. They multiply fast and you need to react quickly before it spreads to all other rooms at home.
